100 Toys in 100 Days

8 year old Ty and his 6 year old  brother Riley are kicking off March Break with a special toy drive for HART and Newf Friends.

The boys hope to get 100 dog toys donated over the next 100 days!  How great is that?  As a foster family for Newf Friends and HART these boys know all about taking great care of their foster dogs.  Having safe toys to play with is a terrific stress reliever for dogs in foster care and Ty and Riley want to make sure that all foster dogs have toys.

Thank you so much Ty and Riley!

If you would like to donate a toy or giftcard to Ty and Riley's toy drive, please email us to find out where to drop off or mail your donation.

Thank you Kyran!

Hi my name is Kyran, I am 8 years old and for the Newf Friend’s rescue, I was able to collect and roll 2100 pennies for a total of $21.00.

My nanny Jane helps with the Newf rescue and she told me that the Newf Friends rescues needed to raise money to help with dogs that are sick and hurt. So I started collecting pennies to hand in at the Newf Stock day in Bancroft.
This note was attached to the bag of pennies that Kyran donated to Newf Friends at NewfStock.

I had a jar of pennies of my own already so I decided that I don’t need them as much as the sick and hurt dogs so I decided to put them towards my fundraising for the newfs. I searched my house for all the pennies I could find and I asked my neighbours if they had pennies they could donate.

I spent 3 nights with my nanny rolling all the pennies. I have my own Landseer Newfoundland dog named Miley who I love so much. I would do anything to help other dogs feel better and I feel good about helping them as much as I can.

Newfy lover,
Kyran

Lemonade fundraiser!

Here's another great story of how a little kindness goes a long way.

5 1/2 year old Cecilia from Michigan, who shares her home with a Newf named Lola, decided to set up a lemonade stand to raise funds for Newf Friends! Her Mom Shereen sent us a lovely note sending along Cecilia's donation, and even better Shereen matched the funds that Cecelia raised! What a great way for this mother daughter team to show their support of Newf rescue.

Thank you Cecelia and Shereen!

Kayleigh does it again!

Thank you Kayleigh for another great fundraiser!

After selling dog cookies over the Christmas holidays, and even auctioning off a photo shoot to help raise money to cover Mackenzie's cherry eye surgery, Kayleigh was at it again bringing in more much needed dollars for Newf Friends this Easter.

Kayleigh was busy as ever baking PupCakes for Easter, selling them around town to raise money to help cover the recent costs of surgery for Mac. Look at her beautiful creations!

Calypso is seen here carrying a basket of PupCakes to sell!

Thank you again Kayleigh for being such a terrific supporter of animal rescue, and an amazing inspiration to people everywhere.

Happy Birthday!

Read our latest submission about a group of awesome girls who pulled together to make a difference for animals in need.......

13 year old Eugenie (who's family recently adopted Ruby) decided to hold a fundraiser for Newf Friends at her birthday slumber party! How great is that?! Here's what her mom had to say.....

Hi Sandra and the whole Team !

Just wanted to let you know that Eugenie (our daughter) just had her Birthday Party/Fundraiser for you guys, she has raised $140 and Eugenie is very proud of her friends since they raised that amount with only 5 girls. Clockwise from top left are Eugenie (the blond one), Shaina and Julia and below with the dogs is Alexea. Koda is on the left and Ruby on the right. One of Eugenie's friends couldn't make it because she has the flu, but she contributed to the fund : her name is Madeline.

The other picture is the girls with the cakes they made for the occasion.
That's it for tonight. I hope all is well your way and that you are not too swamped with too many dogs...although they all look very nice ! Cheers and I'll talk to you later.

Karine, Tony and the Kids (and the Girls too)

Way to go girls! Thank you Eugenie, Shaina, Julia, Alexea and Madeline for your kindness, generosity and support! Happy Birthday Eugenie, we hope you had a great one.
